O trabalho procurou detectar nestes dois segmentos da imprensa de que forma, foram abordados estes dois assuntos de cariz político e económico, tendo em conta o surgimento de novos valores notícia, nomeadamente o negativismo, na abordagem dos conteúdos noticiosos. Esta dissertação procurou, primeiramente, reflectir sobre a introdução de alguns novos valores notícia na selecção e produção dos conteúdos, nomeadamente o negativismo e o espectáculo; repensar, entre outros factores, o que tem estado a contribuir para a introdução dos mesmos, tais como a concorrência com a televisão e outros órgãos de comunicação; o peso do factor económico e, finalmente, de que forma toda esta situação tem conduzido a informação a uma crise cultural que já lhe é inerente. Bem como, reflectir também sobre os danos causados na própria sociedade consumidora desta informação.This study is about the representation of the rejection of stability and growth IV Plan and the demission of José Sócrates through the papers Público and Correio da Manhã. This work pretended to detect in these both press segments how these political and economical issues were treated, attending to the new/original values in the news, namely the negativism in the news contents approach.
