Smelling odors can induce a physiological or a psychological response. The first one is related to the way action potentials act from the olfactory system to the brain, and the second one is related to the emotional way people react to the odor. The electroencephalographic signals are characterized by different parameters, and some of them are used to analyze the effects of the different scents on human. Many studies revealed that odors can cause changes in those signals, and they have documenting the effects of pleasant and unpleasant odors. The present work demonstrates the effect of six different odors on EEG signals from twelve young healthy non-smoking subjects, five male, and seven female in a small range of ages.pt_PT
