Abstract(s)
Fernão-Joanes é uma pequena aldeia plantada na serra da Estrela, com um património
histórico, cultural e natural extremamente significativo e ainda muito pouco estudado. E
considera-se que hoje, é preciso investir: contra a desertificação; contra as paisagens
abandonadas; e contra uma arquitetura em contínua degradação, que corresponde também a
uma atitude de desrespeito para com um património material e imaterial que constitui, no
caso presente, um valor próprio, devendo ser mantido e reforçado. Afigura-se fundamental no
sentido de aproveitamento das potencialidades do local, permitir uma recuperação
sustentada no uso atual, através da introdução de novas atividades capazes de dinamizar e
dignificar o lugar.
A ideia de intervir neste espaço intemporal, surge como uma consequência natural que se
debruça sobre a temática do rehabitar o espaço público, e da valorização da paisagem urbana
e rural.
Esta dissertação apresenta uma componente teórica que aborda conceitos e princípios de
base, abrindo um campo de reflexão e investigação relativo ao lugar, às pré-existências e à
sua integração na paisagem. Pretende restabelecer a continuidade perdida entre o Homem e
a Natureza, associando a dicotomia do urbano/rural e evocar a atividade pastoril
caraterizante desta região. A análise e interpretação destas informações fundamentam,
adequadamente, uma proposta de arquitetura com objetivos funcionais e formais.
Desta forma, será formulada uma hipótese de intervenção definida com o que se pretende
que seja um elevado potencial de projeção futura, bem ancorado nos respetivos valores
patrimoniais.
It´s recognized today the need of investment: against desertification, against abandoned landscapes, and against a continuous degradation in architecture, that also corresponds to an attitude of disrespect towards a material and immaterial heritage that constitutes, on the present case, a proper value, and must be maintained and reinforced. It appears essential in order to pursue the potentialities of the place, to allow a sustained rehabilitation on present usage, through the introduction of new activities capable of boosting and dignifying the local. The idea of intervention in this timeless place, comes up as a natural consequence that leans over the theme of public space re-inhabitation, and the appreciation of urban and rural landscape. This dissertation presents a theoretical component that approaches base concepts and principles, opening a reflection and a research field concerning the place, the pre-existence and its integration into the landscape. It´s intended the reestablishment of the lost continuity between Man and Nature, combining the urban/rural dichotomy and evoking the characterizing pastoral activity of this area. The analysis and interpretation of this information sustains, appropriately, an architecture offer with functional and formal goals. Thereby, it will be formulated an intervention hypothesis defined with what is intended to be a high potential future projection, well anchored on the respective heritage values.
