Abstract(s)
A investigação proposta tem como temática “Vestuário unissexo como resposta aos
estereótipos de género”. Um tema hodierno, com notoriedade na sociedade, que tem sido
debatido e recriado, levando ao surgimento de novos ideais e caminhos alternativos para a
criação, desenvolvimento e produção de vestuário e moda.
A moda assume na sua génese um carácter cultural e sociológico, pois refere-se a um
determinado grupo de indivíduos e é caracterizada ao longo da história da humanidade por
diversas estéticas e comportamentos. Será importante entender que a moda enquanto
tendência e forma de vida mutável, acompanha o vestuário e é um reflexo do tempo.
A androginia e o unissexo encontram-se presentes nas principais tendências de moda da
atualidade, confundindo e dilacerando a barreira ténue entre o masculino e o feminino. Estes
fenómeno sociais e culturais são visíveis e perceptíveis ao longo de uma aprofundada análise
histórica.
Pretende-se com este estudo um esclarecimento sobre a criação do vestuário unissexo como
uma resposta aos estereótipos de género masculino e feminino.
The proposed research is themed "Unisex apparel as a response to gender stereotypes". This hodiernal theme is relevant in society and has been debated and re-created leading to the emergence of new ideas and alternative ways of creating, developing and producing clothing and fashion. Fashion has always had a cultural and sociological nature as it refers to a particular group of individuals and has been characterized throughout the history of mankind by its diverse aesthetic and behaviour. It is important to understand that fashion as a trend and a way of continuous mutation of life, accompanies clothing and is a reflection of time. Androgyny and unisex characteristics are currently present in the main fashion trends, confusing and tearing the thin barrier between masculinity and femininity. These social and cultural phenomena are visible and noticeable over an in-depth historical analysis. The aim of this study is a clarification on the creation of unisex clothing as a response to stereotypes of male and female genders.
