Abstract(s)
A parte escrita resume o contexto geográfico,
As novas
a paisagem.
As soluções construtivas propostas satisfazem critérios
ambiental. A análise crítica final desenvolve as lições aprendidas e as consequências
This dissertation studies the relationship between architecture, climate change and health. It focuses on the projection of a therapeutic Hostel next to the historic center of Pinhel, near the city walls. The written part summarizes the geographical, environmental and urban context, and discusses the relationship between architecture, environment, health and well-being based on the materials chosen. In particular, it explores the concept of architecture for health through a holistic approach. Holistic spaces are presented as a type of building resulting from a combination of nature and architecture that promotes spiritual and physical health. As a preparatory stage, qualitative studies belonging to the same conceptual family were studied and used as a reference for the Therapeutic Hostel project. The latter is developed from the urban scale to the detail, and is based on its location, its morphology, pre-existences and local building types. The new wellness facilities establish a frank dialogue with the castle's hillside and landscape. The new traditions and dialectics of climate and health are translated into architectural strategies that promote order and beauty, prevailing over the casuistic or the excessive. The proposed constructive solutions meet subjective criteria based on cultural, ethical, aesthetic, social and environmental awareness values. Final critical analysis develops the lessons learned and the expected consequences, as well as unresolved issues and problems.
