Abstract(s)
Cidade
conhecido como o pai do urbanismo.
Urbanity i sone of the oldest social environments in the world since there is a record of it, so it can be said that it will be, in a certain way, a primitive one. Urban morphology and the awareness of living in the city in the social quality, even due to its natural geographic and demographic specificities, has always been the target of profound changes in the way of making the city, when living in it, and in its conditions and infrastructures necessary for civilization exist and evolve, from the first second in ancient Mesopotamia to the present day. It is important to verify the differences that unite at the same time what is urban and what is city. Urban is everything that encompasses the city and the city encompasses the urban. City is the way we do and live in the urban environment and its infrastructures; the urban in turn begins with its morphology and what it offers geographically and naturally, and how it allows us to form the city according to its specificities. Although the first urban settlements date back to Ancient Mesopotamia, passing through Egypt, and there are certain vestiges that show an evolution in the way of seeing and doing the city, but it is in Greece that the next step was taken, resulting in a need to rethink the way of living and the birth of a certain hierarchy and organization. This evolution was due to Hippodamus of Miletus, who became known as the father of urbanism Centuries later, during the long period of Roman rule, they perfected the classical style emerged in Greece and added new urban values and in the concept of the city. Even today, the world owes a lot, when it comes to seeing and doing the city, to the classical Greco-Roman world. For this work, the study site is the Portuguese coastal city: Aveiro; which mostly by itself flat, surrounded by water, either through canal soar by the estuary itself, which forms na immense lake for several kilometers; however, as a city, Aveiro is characterized as a small, irregular city, but with a lot of vital infrastructures in the functioning of the city and in constant change and growth, with great future potential. The city of Aveiro has been generating a change in all sectors, with a view to its candidacy for the European Capital of Culture of 2027. That said, in this project I intend to change the image of one of most emblematic areas of Aveiro located in a central location in social and cultural life of the city, with the shopping center and other services, the hospital and schools, including the University, but which, due to lack of investment and will, is not in the best conditions, being this the Bairro de Santiago.
