| dc.description.abstract | A reutilização de águas pluviais em edifícios traz benefícios económicos (ao reduzir o consumo de água potável e por consequência a faturação associada a esse consumo), mas também benefícios ambientais (com a redução das descargas de efluentes no ambiente). O principal objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o potencial de reutilização de águas no edifício Residencial do Centro Social e Cultural de Santo Aleixo (CSCSA), em Unhais da Serra, propondo soluções para a redução dos consumos de água potável e fazendo um estudo de viabilidade técnica e económica a quatro soluções. Uma das soluções prevê apenas a substituição e/ou alteração dos equipamentos, prevendo as restantes soluções, o aproveitamento de águas pluviais para abastecimento dos autoclismos com variação do volume do reservatório e do volume dos autoclismos a abastecer. O trabalho envolveu o redimensionamento da rede de drenagem de águas pluviais e o dimensionamento de uma rede de abastecimento com águas pluviais não tratadas (APNT). Qualquer uma das opções estudadas poderia ser implementada e levaria a uma diminuição considerável na faturação dos serviços de águas, resíduos e saneamento. No entanto, o aproveitamento de águas pluviais para abastecimento de autoclismos com descarga simples, acarreta custos de investimento muito elevados relativamente à poupança obtida, tornando-a pouco viável para regiões do país em que os preços da água não sejam muito elevados. A curto prazo, a solução que apresenta um retorno do investimento mais rápido, é também a que apresenta os custos de investimento mais baixos. No entanto, a longo prazo, as maiores poupanças são conseguidas ao aliar o aproveitamento de águas pluviais com a instalação de equipamentos mais eficientes em termos de gastos de água. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | The reuse of rainwater in buildings, not only, conveys economic benefits (by reducing the consumption of potable water and consequently the billing associated with that consumption) but also environmental benefits (by reducing the discharge of effluents into the environment). The main objective of this work was to evaluate the potential of water reuse in the residential building of the Centro Social e Cultural de Santo Aleixo, in Unhais da Serra, proposing solutions for the reduction of potable water consumption and evaluating the technical feasibility study to four solutions. One of the solutions only provides for the replacement and/or modification of the equipment, with the remaining solutions providing for the use of rainwater to supply the cisterns with variation of the volume of the reservoir and the volume of the cisterns to be supplied. The work involved the resizing of the rainwater drainage network and the design of an untreated rainwater supply network (URSN). Any of the options studied could be implemented and would lead to a considerable reduction of the water, waste and sanitation services billing. However, the use of rainwater to supply flushing single cisterns entails very high investment costs compared to the savings achieved, making it unviable for regions of the country where water prices are not very high. In the short term, the solution with the fastest return on investment is also the one with the lowest investment costs. However, in the long run the greatest savings are achieved by combining rainwater harvesting with the installation of more efficient equipment in terms of water consumption. | eng |
