Abstract(s)
Nesse contexto,
tempos Honda GX50.
The search for greater efficiency and performance in internal combustion engines has driven the investigation of various supercharging techniques. In this context, this dissertation addresses the supercharging of a single-cylinder 4-stroke engine, the Honda GX50, through the construction and coupling of a small-sized centrifugal compressor. The primary objective is to evaluate how this modification affects the engine's performance, including power and torque improvements, as well as its impact on fuel consumption and intake pressure. The dissertation begins with a comprehensive literature review, exploring the fundamentals of supercharging, several types of compressors, and their applications. Next, the details of the experimental methodology are presented, including the selection and adaptation of the centrifugal compressor for the Honda GX50 engine. The coupling process and the necessary modifications to the intake system are discussed in detail. The tests were conducted in a controlled environment with all necessary safety measures in place. The obtained results were compared with the original engine performance data, highlighting the significant power and torque gains achieved through supercharging. In conclusion, the dissertation demonstrates that the construction and coupling of a centrifugal compressor can effectively enhance the performance of the Honda GX50 4- stroke engine. However, it also emphasizes the complexity involved in adapting and optimizing this system. This research contributes to the knowledge of supercharging small-sized engines and provides valuable insights for future developments in this field.
