Abstract(s)
A mortalidade hospitalar é
Pulmonary fibrosis consists of the compact degradation of the extracellular matrix in the interstitium of the lungs associated with the destruction of the lung parenchyma, resulting in loss of lung function, which may be one of the consequences of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) in patients admitted to a Care Unit. Intensives (ICU). Based on the above, the objective is to validate scientific evidence on pulmonary fibrosis in post-ARDS patients in ICU. A systematic review was carried out according to the methodology proposed by the Joanna Briggs Institute. A search was carried out on studies dated between 2014 and 2022, in Portuguese and English, using the following databases: Medline/Pubmed, Web of Science and LILACS. Two independent reviewers perform the critical evaluation, extraction and synthesis of the data. Five studies were included. Their results showed cases of pulmonary fibrosis in post-ARDS patients, with longer duration of ventilator use and significantly longer ICU time. Hospital mortality is also higher in the group of patients with pulmonary fibrosis.
