| dc.description.abstract | Com esta dissertação/projecto pretende-se desenvolver um programa (de usos e funções específicas), para uma unidade de documentação, estudo e investigação científica – designado por Centro Judaico da Covilhã. A concepção do objecto arquitectónico, pela sua localização, é acrescido da componente de reabilitação urbana, que contribuirá para a requalificação do espaço urbano através da construção, de forma a criar um Espaço de Reunião do Conhecimento e Divulgação da Memória do Judaísmo, da cultura e da história das comunidades judaicas na Covilhã e da Beira Interior, onde se poderá expor e divulgar o papel por estas desempenhado, demonstrando o seu contributo para a identidade da região e do seu desenvolvimento no quadro da história e da cultura do judaísmo no geral e da comunidade Judaica da Covilhã, em particular. A dissertação/projecto será desenvolvido em duas partes, sendo a primeira de análise e estudo do espaço urbano, a diferentes escalas e dimensões, como meio de interpretar as tipologias e características da cidade e o seu crescimento, bem como do bairro da Judiaria em questão, a segunda parte corresponderá ao projecto do Centro Judaico, com todas as peças desenhadas e escritas necessárias à sua total compreensão. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | This dissertation/project aims at developing a programme (of specific uses and functions) for a unit of documentation, study and scientific research – named as the Jewish Centre in Covilhã. Due to its location, the conception of the architectural object is enriched with the component of urban rehabilitation, which contributes to the renewal of the urban area. This renewal is mainly achieved by means of the building work so as to create an Area of Knowledge Gathering and Spreading of the Jewish Memory, of the culture and history of the Jewish communities in Covilhã and in Beira Interior. That place is expected to display and spread the role played by the Jewish community in that area of the country as well as its contribution to the identity of the region. At the same time it would show the development of the Jewish culture in general and that of the Jewish community in Covilhã in particular. This dissertation/project is going to be developed in two distinct parts. The former will include the analysis and study of the urban area, carried out at different scales and dimensions, as a means to interpret the typologies and features of the city and its development as well as the Jewish neighbourhood in question; the latter will include the project conceived for the Jewish Centre, with all the necessary items for its fully understanding, drawn and properly described. | |
