Para a obtenção do Grau de Mestre em Ciências Farmacêuticas foi elaborado o presente
relatório constituído por dois capítulos.
O Capítulo 1 corresponde à componente de investigação intitulada de “Melatonina:
Avaliação do Potencial Terapêutico e Tóxico”. Este estudo teve por objetivo principal
identificar alguns dos mais recentes potenciais da melatonina no tratamento e resolução de
doenças e respetiva sintomatologia. Além da avaliação da eficácia foi também objetivo
identificar potenciais riscos do seu consumo. Os resultados obtidos comprovaram os
benefícios da melatonina, pela melhoria de várias condições médicas, e identificaram
inúmeras interações medicamentosas e efeitos adversos, associados à administração desta
substância.
O Capítulo 2 diz respeito ao relatório do estágio curricular realizado na Farmácia Graciosa,
em Ferreira do Zêzere. Nesta secção é elaborada uma caracterização da farmácia e descrito
sucintamente o funcionamento da mesma. É ainda narrada a minha experiência
profissionalizante em farmácia comunitária e o papel do farmacêutico como especialista do
medicamento. A organização da farmácia, documentação, medicamentos e outros produtos
de saúde, utentes, aconselhamento, dispensa e gestão são alguns dos tópicos abordados e
detalhados. Ao longo dos 5 meses de estágio foram aplicados conhecimentos teóricos e
práticos adquiridos ao longo do curso e pude compreender as áreas em que apresento mais
falhas e nas quais são desejadas melhorias ou progressos. Foi dado também destaque às
áreas mais apreciadas e nas quais detenho mais competências.
In order to obtain the Master's Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, this report was prepared, consisting of two chapters. Chapter 1 corresponds to the research component entitled “Melatonin: Evaluation of Therapeutic and Toxic Potential.” The main objective of this study was to identify some of the most recent potentials of melatonin in the treatment and resolution of diseases and their symptoms. In addition to assessing efficacy, the aim was also to identify potential risks associated with its consumption. The results obtained confirmed the benefits of melatonin, through the improvement of various medical conditions, and identified numerous drug interactions and adverse effects associated with the administration of this substance. Chapter 2 pertains to the report of the curricular internship carried out at Farmácia Graciosa in Ferreira do Zêzere. This section provides a characterization of the pharmacy and briefly describes its operation. It also narrates my professional experience in community pharmacy and the role of the pharmacist as a medication specialist. Topics covered and detailed include the organization of the pharmacy, documentation, medications and other health products, patients, counseling, dispensing, and management. During the 5-month internship, I applied theoretical and practical knowledge acquired throughout the course and gained insight into areas where I have the most deficiencies and where improvements or progress are desired. I also highlighted the areas I enjoyed the most and where I have the greatest competencies.
