Abstract(s)
Inhabiting is a concept that cuts across all human beings, regardless of the form it takes or the typology it falls into. Over the course of time, and as a result of the context surrounding the different eras and ephemeris of the civilised world, this concept has transmuted; it has undergone changes that would always be an ideological and anthropological reflection of society. Housing is the stage in which human life and evolution unfolds, as well as all the rituals intrinsic to it and, therefore, the conditions in which it materialises, as well as their conditioning factors, are extremely important. As such, the research carried out, aims to determine different changes and their causes in housing over time, focusing on the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the perception of the domestic space inhabited in the period between 2020 and 2022, as well as the factors that have contributed / failed to contribute to the quality of living. In addition, and concretising the findings of the research, being also a housing typology, it is proposed to fully comprehend and refurbish the complex referring to the former Hotel Tivoli Porto, so that it could be affirmed as an updated model of living, endowed with the indispensable valences for the quality of living.
