Abstract(s)
In this research, travel and tourism journalisms are considered specialized journalism. Although they have different functions, both specializations include the travel niche. In order to understand the differences between them, this dissertation aims to analyze the discursive characteristics that approach and distinguish travel journalism from tourism journalism in the reports of the supplement Fugas, from Público newspaper. Each of the specializations studied in this research has specific characteristics, distinct publics and different ways of approaching the contents of the reports. This study relates the contexts in which these specialized journalisms are to try to understand them, as well as their relevance with globalization and the development of tourism. With the growth of exchanges between cultures and ease of locomotion, there is a search for other cultures and information on this subject. For this, it is necessary that the travel niche be contemplated by journalism, to which the knowledge necessary for the specific public should be used. After the bibliographical research, a discourse analysis with a mixed approach methodology was conducted to answer the problematic: What are the discursive characteristics that distinguish journalism from travel and tourism journalism in the supplement Fugas, from Público newspaper? Characteristics of both specializations were found in the reports of the Fugas, with the understanding that travel and tourism journalisms complement each other to inform the public that is interested in the travel niche.
