Abstract(s)
influenciado o desempenho desportivo.
desempenho a nível nacional.
In order to analyse the first league Portuguese football teams since 1999/00 to 2005/06 we used several econometrical models in the present essay. We also tested the possibility of the referees’ wrong doing in the sportive performance. In the theoretical perspective football has been contextualized on an european an nacional level. The busines model evolution applied to football was explained and we also adressed some ideas to the competitive equilibrium and the home-matches advantage. The result show that referees tend to give benefits to the home team. This advantage is important to the sportive performance. European competitions are great sources of economic benefits but it also enlarge the inicial costs. We should conclude that in Portugal referees do not tend to wrong doing in their sportive decisions. In what concerns to sportive performance it increases acording to the team’s economic benefits resulting from publicity or actions, once home-matches advantage is confirmed. In the negative perspective we distinguish the charges with the inicial, wich in some cases do not fulfill the expectation. the european competitions allow some hight economic benefits but it also contributes to a weak performance of the team in national-matches.
