Abstract(s)
O presente estudo que se propõe, esclarece os conceitos das fases do desenho no design de moda (croqui, ilustração de moda e desenho técnico) e a atuação do ilustrador de moda. Numa segunda fase apresenta-se uma análise da evolução da ilustração de moda desde 1920 até à atualidade, no qual são estudadas duas ilustrações de artistas representativos desse período. Por último, a dissertação integrará uma vertente applied research que consiste em explorar uma linguagem plástica, no meio digital, de acordo com os modelos visionários selecionados: Christian Dior (1905-1957), Yohji Yamamoto (1943), Thierry Mugler (1948-2022), Vivienne Westwood (1941) e Elsa Schiaparelli (1890-1973) e com o intuito de demonstrar o papel estruturante que o mundo da ilustração pode desempenhar quando orientado para a moda, correspondendo a futuras investigações e eventuais saídas profissionais. A dissertação reúne uma revisão e interpretação de literatura relevante, designadamente de fontes primárias e obras de autores recentes que compilam as áreas da Desenho de Moda, História da Moda, Ilustração de Moda, Filosofia da Moda e Projeto. Assim, a metodologia aplicada, baseia-se num entendimento metódico e progressivo experienciado no seu decorrer.
This study aims to clarify design´s phases concept in the fashion design environment (sketch, fashion illustration, and technical drawing) while exploring the role of the fashion illustrator. On second part, it was made an analysis of the evolution of fashion illustration from 1920 to the present, in which two fashion artworks, produced by representative artists of that period, are studied. Lastly, this dissertation integrates an applied research aspect that consists of the exploration of plastic language, in the digital environment, according to the selected visionary models: Christian Dior (1905-1957), Yohji Yamamoto (1943), Thierry Mugler (1948-2022), Vivienne Westwood (1941) and Elsa Schiaparelli (1890-1973). The research aims to demonstrate the structuring role that the world of illustration can play when oriented towards fashion, corresponding to future investigations and possible career opportunities. The dissertation brings together a review and interpretation of relavant literature, namely primary sources and works produced by recente authors who compile the areas Fashion Design, Fashion History, Fashion Illustration, Fashion Philosophy, and Design. This the methodology applied is based on a methodical and progressive understanding experienced in its course.
