Esta dissertação procura encontrar a teoria presente nas obras de Kazuhiro Soda, recorrendo para isso à abordagem da “teoria dos cineastas”.
Enquanto a teoria do cinema é composta sobretudo por manifestações elaboradas essencialmente, por académicos, a teoria dos cineastas pretende revelar e mostrar de que forma a obra criada pelo cineasta contém em si uma teoria, uma reflexão sobre cinema, que possa beneficiar a teoria do cinema.
A compreensão e elaboração dessa teoria prende-se então com a recolha e análise de informação relativa ao cineasta em causa, posteriormente distribuída pelos seguintes elementos: bio-filmografia, tipologia da relação com a atividade de teorizar, tipo de teoria, espectador, conceitos-chave, género e estilo.
This dissertation attempts to find the existing theory in the works of Kazuhiro Soda, adopting the theory of filmmakers in order to do so. While film theory is primarily produced through texts developed by academics, the theory of filmmakers intends to reveal and show in what way the work created by the filmmaker contains within itself a theory, a reflection about cinema, which can benefit the theory of film. The construction of this theory depends on the gathering and analysis of all the information related to the filmmaker in question, subsequently distributed through the following elements: bio-filmography, typology of the relation with the activity of theorizing, type of theory, viewer, key-concepts, genre and style.
