O tema de Herança Cultural em videojogos é algo já estudado e debatido. No entanto,
este estudo foi maioritariamente feito com jogos sérios e os casos de uso destes jogos são
limitados a espaços com um público-alvo muito pequeno. Os jogos comerciais têm maior
alcance do que os jogos sérios e os jogadores são mais motivados a jogá-los. Esta pesquisa
tem então como objetivo perceber como o game design de jogos comerciais pode afetar
a aprendizagem de Herança Cultural. Foi feita uma análise de jogos conhecidos com
fortes temas culturais e extraída uma lista de técnicas que estes jogos usam para
transmitir informação cultural. A partir desta lista de técnicas foram feitos dois estudos:
primeiro, um estudo de caso de um gameplay do jogo Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey e dos
elementos culturais presentes durante as missões principais; segundo, uma pesquisa
descritiva com base num questionário no qual os participantes (n=55) observam vídeos
contendo as técnicas e respondem a perguntas sobre as mesmas. Os resultados desta
pesquisa apontam que os jogos comerciais podem ser utilizados como ferramenta de
aprendizagem na área da Herança Cultural e que as técnicas encontradas têm diferentes
casos de uso e possíveis diferenças na sua eficiência. Estes resultados formam uma base
de estudo onde é planeado uma continuação da investigação.
The topic of Cultural Heritage in video games is something that has already been studied and debated. However, this study was mostly done with serious games, and the use cases of these games are limited to spaces with a very small target audience. Commercial games have a greater reach than serious games, and players are more motivated to play them. This research aims to understand how the game design of commercial games can affect the learning of Cultural Heritage. An analysis of well-known games with strong cultural themes was conducted and a list of techniques that these games use to convey cultural information was extracted. From this list of techniques, two studies were conducted: first, a case study of a gameplay of the game Assassin's Creed: Odyssey and the cultural elements present during the main missions; second, a descriptive research based on a questionnaire in which participants (n=55) watch videos containing the techniques and answer questions about them. The results of this research indicate that commercial games can be used as a learning tool in Cultural Heritage and that the techniques found have different use cases and possible differences in their efficiency. These results form a basis for study where further research is planned.
