Abstract(s)
O presente estudo incide sobre o ensino profissional, introduzido oficialmente nas Escolas Secundária Públicas em 2004 e tem como principal objetivo verificar qual a perceção dos principais agentes educativos relativamente aos Cursos Profissionais, quanto à sua importância, qualidade e implementação na Escola Secundária Pública.
Para alcançar o objetivo atrás anunciado foi feito um estudo descritivo e interpretativo, recorrendo-se à aplicação de inquéritos por questionário e documentos internos arquivados da escola com interesse para o esclarecimento das questões específicas de investigação.
Os resultados obtidos permitem-nos concluir que os professores e alunos dos Cursos Profissionais, assim como a Direção Executiva da escola manifestam uma perceção bastante positiva relativamente à importância, qualidade e implementação dos mesmos na escola. Destacamos especialmente que, do ponto de vista dos professores e Direção Executiva, os Cursos Profissionais foram uma mais valia para a consolidação das metas do Projeto Educativo da escola, reforçando o papel da mesma na formação qualificada de jovens para o mercado de trabalho e no acentuar da sua identidade, assim como na melhoria dos resultados escolares dos alunos. Do ponto de vista dos alunos, destaca-se a forte valorização da natureza prática dos cursos e à sua orientação para o mercado do trabalho, a qualidade do estágio (FCT) e à promoção do seu sucesso educativo.
The present study focuses on vocational education, officially introduced in Public Secondary Schools in 2004 and has as main objective to verify the perception of the main educational agents as far as Professional Courses are concerned, as to their importance, quality and implementation in the Public Secondary School. To achieve the above stated aim a descriptive and interpretive study was done using questionnaire surveys and internal school filed documents with interest to clarify the specific research questions. The results allow us to conclude that both teachers and students of Professional Courses, as well as the Director of the school express a very positive opinion concerning the importance, quality and their implementation in school. It should be pointed out that according to the teachers and Director, the Professional courses have been an asset to the consolidation of the goals of the educational project of the school, reinforcing the role of it in the training of qualified young people to the labour market and enhancing their identity, not to mention the remarkable improvement in their marks. In the students’ point of view, we must undoubtedly take into account the practical nature of the courses and orientation to the labour market, the quality of training (FCT) and the promotion of their educational success.
