Abstract(s)
A presente dissertação consiste numa reflexão sobre a reabilitação de edifícios antigos,
na perspetiva de respeito pela pré-existência e preservação da identidade dos edifícios.
Este problema aparece de forma a abranger toda a envolvente em que este se insere,
exaltando a importância que possuem no caráter da cidade, da história e da memória.
O objetivo é entender o edifício desde a sua estrutura à sua imagem arquitetónica e
estudar as várias fases de evolução que acompanham esta construção, e, por fim,
absorver as técnicas de construção tradicionais, que permanecem a mais de um século,
para assim perceber o seu funcionamento.
Como metodologia este trabalho divide-se em duas fases: a caracterização do existente
e a intenção arquitetónica. O estado de conservação ditou o grau de intervenção a
realizar. A intenção foi encontrar uma solução para as patologias e numa segunda fase
compatibiliza-las com um novo programa arquitetónico. O pensamento que leva a
propor um novo programa surge após uma reflexão sobre as condicionantes atuais do
centro histórico de Viseu. Assim o tema de um espaço de co-working é compatível e
promove a atividade urbana.
The present dissertation consists of a reflection on the rehabilitation of old buildings, in the perspective of respect for the pre-existence and preservation of the buildings' identity. This problem appears in order to cover the entire environment in which it is inserted, extolling the importance they have in the character of the city, history and memory. The objective is to understand the building from its structure to its architectural image and to study the various phases of evolution that accompany this construction, and, finally, to absorb the traditional construction techniques, which have remained for over a century, in order to understand the its functioning. As a methodology, this work is divided into two phases: the characterization of the existing and the architectural intention. The state of conservation dictated the degree of intervention to be carried out. The intention was to find a solution for the pathologies and, in a second phase, make them compatible with a new architectural program. The thought that leads to proposing a new program comes after a reflection on the current conditions of the historic center of Viseu. Thus, the theme of a co-working space is compatible and promotes urban activity
