Abstract(s)
e de estímulo do paciente.
outras áreas do conhecimento.
This investigation aims to study the integration of architecture with therapy, the chosen theme for the final dissertation. Through this work, we attempt to examine and understand the reciprocal relationship between the mind (human) and space (architecture), as well as question how space, along with the different sensations it can evoke, can contribute to therapy. Consequently, we delve into the functions of architecture and how, in service of the physical and psychological well-being of the patient, they enhance the therapeutic environment and stimulate the patient. This theme immediately necessitates rigorous research to comprehend the type of influence that an architectural object may have on the daily lives of mental health patients, including inquiries with individuals involved in the therapeutic process from various fields of knowledge. All the research was used with the intention of designing a space that positively impacts the lives of patients. In this sense, it was crucial to understand and comprehend the constituent elements of the architectural program and how it can influence the quality of habitation and, consequently, life. After defining the theme and objective, the research continued, opting for a methodological approach based on theoretical structuring, which allowed for the framing of a set of concepts and understandings in an intelligible and coherent manner within the disciplinary area under study. Subsequently, the results of this research were applied in practice, leading to the development of a preliminary study exercise aimed at the care of patients with mental health issues. This building is intended to serve two purposes: on one hand, as a treatment facility, and on the other hand, as a home for the reintegration of citizens into society. It provides atmospheres deemed welcoming by professionals, where residents have at their disposal architectural devices that allow them to relearn the simplest tasks of daily life, combined with group therapies and occupational therapies, so that in the near future they can live independently in society again.
