O presente relatório descreve todos os trabalhos desenvolvidos no Atelier Maurício
Vieira. Situado na Guarda, este escritório autorizou a realização de um estágio curricular de
quatro meses com vista a finalização do mestrado em Design Industrial na Universidade da Beira
Interior.
Neste documento consta a apresentação do projeto principal de estágio realizado a
título individual, acompanhado e orientado pelo atelier. Este trabalho, denominado “Roooots”,
foi guiado por uma abordagem que privilegia o pensamento e práticas sustentáveis. Consciente
da importância do poder comunicativo, este exercício pretende fortificar a relação entre
utilizador e a humanidade nos produtos. Ao longo do documento está presente a descrição de
todas as etapas que constituem o processo criativo: estabelecimento do briefing, exploração
formal, possibilidade de execução, realização de mock-ups e maquetes, modelação
tridimensional, concretização de modelos finais e, por fim, aprovação.
Posteriormente, existe uma breve exposição de trabalhos solicitados por clientes e
concretizados no decorrer do estágio, tocando nas mais variadas áreas no mundo do design.
Inclui também exercícios ilustrativos.
A competência do gabinete é posta à prova devido a certas limitações. Ao longo do
documento são percetíveis as diferenças entre os projetos, onde por vezes é necessário um
estudo complexo de modo a entregar sempre a melhor solução.
Atividades ligadas à área de design integram um setor comercial bastante competitivo.
A opinião de quem solicita o trabalho possui um peso elevado em todas as decisões, e a
capacidade para aplicar conhecimentos e correções formais de forma subtil de modo a
satisfazer todas as entidades envolvidas no processo é uma obrigação.
The present report describes all the projects developed at Atelier Maurício Vieira. Located in Guarda, this studio allowed the completion of a four-month intership, in order to complete the master´s degree in Industrial Design at University of Beira Interior. The purpose of this report is to present the main work that was developed and made by myself individually and accompanied and guided by the studio where I took my intership. This project, “Roooots”, is guided by an approach that privileges sustainable thinking and practices. Aware of the importance of communicative power, this exercise aims to cement the relationship between users and the capture of humanity in products. It also contains a description of all the stages that constitute the creative process: briefing, formal exploration, possibility of execution, mock-ups, three-dimensional modeling, final models and, finally, approval. After the presentation of the main project, there is a brief exposition of other works requested by the clients and completed during the internship. Those works combine the most areas in the world of design. This document also includes illustrative exercises. The studio competence is tested by various factors. During the development of some projects, there are situations where it is necessary to do a complex study of some components, in order to outline the best solution to the client. Design activities are a part of a very competitive business sector. The opinion of the person who requests the work has a heavy weight in all decisions. A designer must have the ability to apply formal knowledge and to adapt the project to the client expectations.
