Abstract(s)
A presente
A valorização deste
do conhecimento cinematográfico, neste sentido a arquitetura e o cinema dialogam
harmoniosamente, convergem numa linguagem visual, e poética.
Increasingly, in the context of industrial heritage, it is becoming pertinent to continue to bring to life structures that are part of the history of places and are the starting point for a fiery evolution into concrete realities and inspired futures. We live in a constant metamorphosis in which the arts play a central role. This dissertation aims to establish and explore, in an interdisciplinary discursive practice, in a kaleidoscope of influences, the relationship between cinema and architecture. Reflecting on Bragança industrial heritage and structural morphology, this dissertation, being of a theoretical-practical nature, presents as a practical case an architectural project for the rehabilitation of a megastructure in the historical context of the city, which once housed a grain milling and storage factory, called the Mariano & Cª, Lª factory. This building began operating in 1925. Later, with the construction of a new factory in Macedo de Cavaleiros, in the district of Bragança, the original building became an office, and remained so until the 1990s. Since then, the building has been vacant. We believe that making the most of this space could be an important step towards the cultural, social and economic development of the city, thus restoring its vitality and becoming an evocative industrial memory of the city. A new program is proposed, to give the building a new destination, creating a film school and a cinema, creating a device for looking at the polis, betting on a social flourishing and bringing cinematographic art back to the region. Architecture, in this scenario, dictates the role of storyteller, the physical structure of an industrial past, is assumed as a platform for creating new narratives. The megastructure that witnessed the mass production of cereals will give way to the creation of cinematographic knowledge, and in this sense architecture and cinema dialogue harmoniously, converging in a visual and poetic language.
