O assunto da manufatura aditiva que consiste na deposição de material camada a camada
tem estado na ordem do dia.
A presente dissertação de mestrado aborda a exploração das várias possibilidades de
aplicação futura da manufatura aditiva no setor aeronáutico, de acordo também com a opinião
de empresas nacionais que produzem componentes.
Apresenta-se a gama de tecnologias MA, bem como as suas vantagens, incluindo os
benefícios que a sua implementação tem já na Europa. Descrevem-se as dificuldades na
implementação da tecnologia.
Apresentam-se também informações sobre componentes já fabricados recorrendo a
fabricação aditiva, inclusive aqueles que já foram certificados pelas autoridades da aviação
para voar. Analisam-se ainda os tipos de componente fabricados recorrendo à fabricação
aditiva, o tipo de matéria-prima utilizado e o tipo de aplicação utilizada: prototipagem rápida,
fabricação rápida, rapid tooling ou reparação rápida.
Para efeitos de certificação aeronáutica por via da FAA / EASA abordam-se aspetos
específicos sobre as condições para a emissão desta certificação para voar de componentes
obtidos por via da fabricação aditiva.
Finalmente, com base na análise feita e explorando algumas formas possíveis para a
melhoria da tecnologia, tecem-se alguns caminhos para o desenvolvimento da MA no setor.
The subject of additive manufacturing, which consists of the deposition of material layer by layer has been the order of the day. This dissertation addresses the various possibilities of future application of additive manufacture in the aeronautical sector, according to the opinion of national companies that produce components. It presents the range of AM technologies as well as their benefits, including the benefits that their implementation already has in Europe. It is described the difficulties in implementing the technology. It is described the components that are already made using additive manufacturing, including those already certified by aviation authorities to fly. It is also analysed the types of components manufactured using the additive manufacturing, the type of raw material used and the type of application used: rapid prototyping, rapid manufacturing, rapid tooling or rapid repair. For the purpose of aeronautical certification via the FAA / EASA, specific aspects regarding the conditions for the emission of this certification to fly components obtained through additive manufacturing are discussed, too. Finally, based on the analysis made and exploring some possible ways to improve the technology, possible ways for the development of AM in the sector are identified.
