O que existe para além do que é mostrado pelas Forças Armadas? Tudo o que nos apresentam
faz-nos querer afastar daquele mundo.
Sempre que contava a amigos o projeto que estava a realizar, havia alguém que me
perguntava se não tinha medo de lá estar ou comentavam o facto de ser algo desumano. A
imagem que as próprias Forças Armadas pretendem mostrar, de que estão sempre prontas
para entrar em missão, acaba por assustar muita gente.
É verdade que existe o lado desumano e assustador da vida militar, mas como todas as
histórias, existe um lado que não costuma ser mostrado. É esse lado que pretendo apresentar
neste filme. Tudo aquilo que os torna iguais a nós, civis.
Uma curta-metragem documental que acompanha, sem intervenção da minha parte, a vida de
cada um dos jovens que ingressaram no curso de Praças Fuzileiros de 2018.
Um trabalho que não é só um filme, mas uma experiência de vida, que me fez crescer imenso
enquanto pessoa e profissional na área do cinema.
Neste relatório, irei apresentar todo o processo deste grande projeto.
What exists behind what is shown by the Armed Forces? Everything they present to us makes us want to stay away from their world. Whenever I would tell my friends what kind of project I was working on, someone would inevitably ask me if I wasn’t scared of being there or they would comment on how inhumane it all was. The picture the Armed Forces portray to the world, that they’re always ready for battle, ends up scaring a lot of people. It’s true that there is a frightening and inhumane facet to military life, but like in every story, there’s also another side that isn’t usually shown. That is the side I want to showcase with this film: everything that makes them like us civilians. A short documentary film that follows, without my interference, the lives of every young man enlisted on the Marines’ class of 2018. A project that isn’t just a film, but also a life-changing experience that made me grow immensely as a person and as a professional in the filmmaking industry. In this report I will present the whole process that lead to the completion this great project.
