Abstract(s)
necessariamente as novas tecnologias e as novas culturas digitais. Saber qual a relação
The main object of this study is to identify the cultural practices and the various forms of access to the culture of the student community of the University of Beira Interior. It seemed important to a study in this area that is thought to not yet exist in this university, especially to have a better matching of supply to demand. Knowing that there are numerous definitions of culture as well as numerous forms of culture, we have chosen to question the students, especially in what concerns the so-called high culture (theater, dance, music ...), even though it covers some products of so-called mass culture (literature, cinema, television, radio, etc.), necessarily encompassing new technologies and new digital cultures. Knowing the cultural relationship with the University and Covilhã itself was one of the concerns. Using the questionnaire survey method, it was concluded that the cultural practices of UBI students are very closely linked to the new technologies, with a reasonable participation in the University's cultural activities, and very low or almost nonexistent in relation to the cultural offer the city provides.
