Abstract(s)
The focus on the pandemic of COVID-19 raised the complexity of health management worldwide, and the pandemic scenario served as a true test of organizational management of health organizations of different strands, challenged to provide feasible and effective responses to combat the virus. Angola, like other developing countries, was voted to a process of rapid growth of COVID-19 among the populations, in view of the still deficient sanitary conditions, inherited from almost four decades of civil war that devastated the country in all spheres, including health, (WHO, 2019). The present topic finds its relevance for Health Unit Management in the need to develop a holistic view regarding the populations' health policies. This is an observational exploratory study of quantitative approach, with the objective of analyzing the socioeconomic and health consequences with the emergence of the pandemic of COVID-19 and its impact on the treatment of current diseases in a population in the interior of Angola. After applying a questionnaire on the study population - 114 families in the city of Benguela - the data were processed using SPSS Statistic, obtaining results that indicated average correlations of the socioeconomic and health variables raised, worse during the pandemic, when compared to the pre-pandemic time. It is concluded that, in general, the pandemic of COVID-19 brought a negative impact on families in Benguela, cushioned with the residual shortage in Angola, which led the population to accommodate more naturally in the face of direct damage of the pandemic, but, which suffered intense indirect effects, with the increase of economic and health shortages with consequences of deaths from other infectious diseases.
