| dc.description.abstract | O Concílio Vaticano II constitui o maior dos acontecimentos da História da Igreja do século XX à escala mundial. Este momento, ocorrido entre 1962 e 1965, na magna reunião da Igreja Católica e que envolveu representantes de todo o mundo continua hoje, cinquenta anos depois, a ser motivo de diálogo, debate e de alguma insatisfação por parte de leigos e de clérigos, por não serem ainda o seu espírito e os seus ensinamentos uma realidade total na vida da Igreja. As relações entre a Igreja Católica e a comunicação social assumiram uma nova perspetiva com este Concílio, que dedicou a esta o decreto Inter mirifica e a começou a considerar como um instrumento importante para a difusão da mensagem cristã, colocando de lado, ainda que com muitas reservas, a ideia de que seria uma adversária na difusão dos valores morais. O poder da comunicação social ao nível regional sempre foi reconhecido pela Igreja Católica, que o fomentou em diversas formas e momentos. E, por isso, o acontecimento universal que viria a mudar a forma de a Igreja se relacionar com a sociedade não podia deixar de ser acompanhado pelo Notícias da Covilhã, jornal católico de carácter regional, propriedade da Diocese da Guarda, que cobriu as quatro fases dos trabalhos conciliares e os reportou em várias edições. A análise de conteúdo das publicações deste semanário católico entre os anos de 1962 e 1965 centra-se no género jornalístico utilizado, na informação que é veiculada, no tipo de vocabulário com que tal é feito e no uso (ou não) da imagem. Tal análise permite-nos entender como chegavam aos leitores da Covilhã e da Diocese da Guarda as notícias de Roma sobre o Concílio Vaticano II e a forma como se perspetivavam as suas consequências na vida eclesial. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | The Second Vatican Council constitutes the greater event in the History of the Church in 20th century at a world-wide scale. This momentevent, that occurred between 1962 and 1965 in the great meeting of the Catholic Church, and involved representatives of the whole world, continues today, fifty years later, to be a reason of dialogue and of some dissatisfaction on the part of laymen and clergymen. The reason is that its spirit and engagement aren´t still a total reality in the life of the Church. The relations between the Catholic Church and the social communication got new outlines with this Council, to which it dedicated the decree Inter mirifica, and started to consider it as an important instrument for the diffusion of the Christian message, putting aside, despite many reserves, the idea of an adversary in the diffusion of the moral values. The power of the social communication at a regional level was always recognized by the Catholic Church, which fomented it in diverse ways and moments. And, therefore, the universal event that would come to change the way the Church related to the society and the way was accompanied by a newspaper such as Notícias da Covilhã, a regional catholic newspaper, property of the Diocese of Guarda, that covered the four phases of the conciliar works and reported them in several editions. The content analysis of the publications of this Catholic weekly between 1962 and 1965 focuses on the journalistic genre used, on the information that is conveyed, on the type of vocabulary with which it is made and on the use (or not) of the image. This content analysis will allow us to understand how the news of Rome on the Second Vatican Council reached the readers of Covilhã and the Diocese of the Guard, and the way in which their consequences in the life of the Church were perceived. | eng |
