Ao longo da história o lugar da mulher na sociedade e no mundo foi sendo
definido e redefinido, na maioria dos casos sendo vista como símbolo da casa e da
família. No contexto português, a arquitetura que sempre tinha sido vista como uma área
muito masculinizada, tem vindo a aumentar a sua taxa de feminização. Atualmente é
cada vez maior o número de mulheres a ingressar nos cursos de arquitetura, o que resulta
em que cerca de 45% do número de inscritos na Ordem dos Arquitetos sejam do sexo
feminino. Apesar de a taxa de feminização profissional ter aumentado significativamente
desde o Estado Novo, esta área continua a ser predominantemente masculina e, ao
mesmo tempo elitista, o que tem gerado uma certa precarização das condições de
trabalho ao longo dos anos.
Tendo em conta a democratização e as condições atuais da profissão, bem como
a condição de periferia da Beira Interior, propõe-se compreender, segundo uma
perspetiva de género, de que forma a precarização atinge quem trabalha nesta região e
quais os constrangimentos que o percurso das mulheres arquitetas possam ter. Deste
modo foram previamente identificados trinta e um escritórios de arquitetura, que,
dentro do território definido, se situam em Castelo Branco, Celorico da Beira, Covilhã,
Fundão, Guarda, Mação, Seia e Sertã. Aos trabalhadores dos escritórios identificados foi
aplicado um inquérito por questionário com questões de carácter quantitativo e
qualitativo. Com base nos resultados obtidos pretende-se retirar conclusões que possam
aferir as condições de trabalho destes profissionais; nomeadamente os vínculos laborais
predominantes, os horários praticados, as condições remuneratórias e as condições de
trabalho, associando estas componentes com a vida pessoal, familiar e com os riscos
psicossociais.
Throughout history, the place of women in society and in the world has been defined and redefined, in most cases being seen as a symbol of home and family. In the Portuguese context, architecture, which had always been seen as a masculine area, has been increasing its rate of feminization. Currently, the number of women going in architecture courses is increasing, which means that around 45% of the number enrolled in the Architects Order are women. Although the percentage of professional feminization has increased since the Estado Novo, this area continues to be traditionally male and, at the same time, elitist, which has generated a certain precariousness of working conditions over the years. Considering the democratization and the current conditions of the profession, as well as the condition of periphery of Beira Interior, the proposal is to understand, from a gender perspective, how precariousness affects those who work in this region and what are the constraints that women might find in their path. In this way, thirty one architecture offices were previously identified, which within the defined territory are located in Castelo Branco, Celorico da Beira, Covilhã, Fundão, Guarda, Mação, Seia and Sertã. To the working people of the identified offices a questionnaire survey with quantitative and qualitative questions was applied. Based on the results, the intention is to draw conclusions that can access the working conditions of these professionals; in particular, the predominant employment relationships, the hours practiced, the remuneration conditions and the working conditions, associating these components with personal and family life alongside with psychosocial risks that might arise.
