Nesta dissertação é feita uma aproximação da tradição à inovação, no design de calçado. Esta ligação de conceitos pretende consolidar o processo criativo de desenvolvimento de um produto através da fusão dos mesmos, aliando a possibilidade de produzir com inovação às técnicas e valores subjacentes à tradição. Como tudo na vida se prende com o tempo, recurso essencial para qualquer pessoa ou atividade, a impressão 3D surge nesta dissertação como uma ferramenta inovadora, que devido às suas características, se apresenta como elo de ligação entre o passado e o futuro. A impressão 3D, para além da forma individual e manual com que permite desenvolver projetos, oferece também a possibilidade de inovar. O design do calçado é o tema explorado neste processo metodológico, uma vertente cada vez mais presente e mais conhecida, pelas melhores razões no panorama português. Esta dissertação tem como objetivo desenvolver e recuperar os valores tão singulares e originais do design de calçado português, para conseguir criar um novo produto, na base da tradição, mas produzido com inovação, com o recurso à impressão 3D e a todos os valores que com ela vêm agregados. A impressão de uma coleção cápsula de calçado será uma das melhores conclusões a apresentar para clarificar e sustentar todo processo descrito e desenvolvido nesta dissertação.
This thesis makes an proximity of tradition with innovation, in what concerns to footwear design. This concepts connections intend to make the creative process of a product development consolidated by the fusion of themselves, allying the possibility of producing with innovation to the technics and values that are underlied with tradition. As everything in life has to do with time, an essential resource for any person or activity, 3D printing emerges in this thesis as an innovative tool that due to its characteristics, presents itself as a link between the past and the future. The 3D printing beyond the individual and manual form that allows to develop projects, also offers the possibility to innovate. The footwear design is the theme explored in this methodological process, a shed ever more present and known, for the best reasons in the Portuguese panorama. This thesis aims to develop and recover values really uniques and originals, of the Portuguese footwear design, to be also able to create a new product on the base of tradition, but produced with innovation, with 3D printing as a feature and all the values that come together. The print of a footwear capsule collection will be one of the best conclusions to present, to be able to clarify and support the whole process described and developed in this thesis.
