Abstract(s)
The development of devices that communicate with each other over the internet, mainly in the context of the Internet of Things (IoT), has brought new challenges in the design of electronic devices capable of ensuring efficient and reliable communication. In this scenario, linear oscillators are fundamental, but they face limitations that affect their performance at higher frequencies. This dissertation explores the use of composite amplifiers as a solution to overcome these limitations, aiming to increase the operating frequency band of the oscillators. Comparative simulations are carried out for two linear amplifiers with distinct characteristics, which were later integrated into two second-order RC-type oscillators topologies, both for implementations with just one amplifier and for composite amplifier implementations. These oscillators are also simulated using an automatic gain control circuit (AGC), and a comparison between them is subsequently made. The results indicate that composite amplifiers are a good solution to improve the performance of linear oscillators with increasing frequency bandwidth, however, compromises need to be established between extending the bandwidth and controlling the harmonic distortion.
