Abstract(s)
sobreviventes apresentam consequências negativas do foro cognitivo, comportamental e
social.
Traumatic brain injury is a common type of lesion that can lead to death. Traumatic brain injury often leads to negative consequences, that can be related to cognitive, behavioral, and social changes. In this case study, we analyze the case of P., a patient that suffered two traumatic brain injuries that were 10 years apart from each other. P. suffers from memory, attentional, and temporal orientation impairments. P.’s intervention was focused on memory and attentional rehabilitation by using an ecological approach, with the help of technicians from the same institution the patient was in. This protocol promoted the development of new memory skills that the patient was able to take advantage of on their daily basis activities. The efficacy of the protocol was assessed via the feedback of said technicians, as they took notes of the patient’s answers on a personalized paper, by counting the amount of right and wrong answers. Thanks to this, it was possible to develop a continued and systematic stimulation that covered multiple aspects of P.’s life. In the future, it would be of high importance to promote more studies regarding this kind of approach and its efficacy.
