O presente relatĂłrio de estĂĄgio, no Ăąmbito da unidade curricular âEstĂĄgioâ do Mestrado
Integrado em CiĂȘncias FarmacĂȘuticas, encontra-se subdividido em dois capĂtulos distintos,
representantes da componente de investigação e da experiĂȘncia profissionalizante em
FarmĂĄcia ComunitĂĄria.
O capĂtulo I aborda a componente de investigação e centra-se na enxaqueca â uma patologia
associada a considerĂĄveis incapacidades, perda de produtividade e causadora de um pesado
fardo para a sociedade em geral. Este capĂtulo incide numa revisĂŁo da literatura mais
recente (2017-2022) atravĂ©s de uma pesquisa na base de dados cientĂfica Pubmed com o
objetivo de compreender qual a prevalĂȘncia atual da doença em diferentes segmentos
populacionais, quais a comorbilidades com maior potencial de se manifestarem
simultaneamente com a enxaqueca e seus possĂveis mecanismos partilhados, quais os
avanços no conhecimento da fisiopatologia com o descobrimento do papel de neuropéptidos
como o péptido relacionado com o gene da calcitonina (CGRP) e quais as novas alternativas
farmacolĂłgicas profilĂĄticas e agudas para a gestĂŁo da patologia e sua respetiva eficĂĄcia e
segurança. Os Ășltimos 5 anos trouxeram uma expansĂŁo dramĂĄtica e excitante em novos
tratamentos farmacolĂłgicos para esta patologia que tĂȘm o potencial de revolucionar a
gestĂŁo da mesma, e incluem os anticorpos monoclonais dirigidos ao CGRP ou ao seu recetor,
os gepants e os ditanos.
O capĂtulo II Ă© referente Ă minha experiĂȘncia profissionalizante em FarmĂĄcia ComunitĂĄria
realizada na Farmåcia Afifense entre 16 de fevereiro e 29 de junho de 2022, sob orientação
do Dr. José Guedes. O estågio em Farmåcia Comunitåria é uma oportunidade valiosa para
os estudantes de CiĂȘncias FarmacĂȘuticas adquirirem experiĂȘncia prĂĄtica em ambiente real
de trabalho sendo indispensĂĄvel Ă sua formação. Durante o perĂodo de estĂĄgio, foi possĂvel
contactar e abordar as vĂĄrias ĂĄreas de intervenção de um farmacĂȘutico no funcionamento
de uma FarmĂĄcia ComunitĂĄria, incluindo atendimento e aconselhamento ao pĂșblico,
promoção do uso racional de medicamentos, medição e interpretação dos parùmetros
fisiolĂłgicos e bioquĂmicos, gestĂŁo de stocks, geração, transmissĂŁo e receção de encomendas,
contabilidade e faturação.
The present internship report, within the curriculum unit "Internship" of the Integrated Master's Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, is divided into two distinct chapters, representing the research component and the professionalizing experience in Community Pharmacy. Chapter I addresses the research component and focuses on migraines â a disease associated with considerable disabilities, loss of productivity, and a heavy burden for society in general. This chapter focuses on a review of the most recent literature (2017-2022) through a research in the scientific database Pubmed with the aim of understanding the current prevalence of the disease in different segments of the population, which comorbidities are most likely to manifest simultaneously with migraines and their possible shared mechanisms, what advances have been made in the knowledge of the pathophysiology with the discovery of the role of neuropeptides such as calcitonin generelated peptide (CGRP) and what are the new pharmacological prophylactic and acute alternatives for the management of the disease and their respective efficacy and safety. The last 5 years have brought a dramatic and exciting expansion in new pharmacological treatments for people with migraine that have the potential to revolutionize its management, and include monoclonal antibodies directed to CGRP or its receptor, gepants, and ditans. Chapter II is related to my professionalizing experience in Community Pharmacy carried out at FarmĂĄcia Afifense between February 26th and June 29th of 2022, under the guidance of Dr. JosĂ© Guedes. The internship in Community Pharmacy is a valuable opportunity for Pharmaceutical Sciences students to acquire practical experience in a real-world work environment. During the internship period, it was possible to contact and approach various areas of intervention of a pharmacist in the management of a Community Pharmacy, including public service and counseling, promotion of rational drug use, measurement and interpretation of physiological and biochemical parameters, stock management, generation, transmission, and reception of orders, accounting, and billing.
