Abstract(s)
a redinamizar as linhas férreas.
The importance of the railway line has changed over time, going from something associated with great evolution, such as the Industrial Revolution, to the development and rise of some cities. Later, the railways in Portugal lost their importance in favor of greater investments in other means of communication and alternative transport means, remaining, to this day, mostly in decline. Today, it is clear through the media that there is a new awareness and desire to reinvigorate the railway lines. It is precisely for this reason that the interest and curiosity in investigating this topic arose, in verifying and analyzing how some cities were growing and developing at an urban level, but also in architectural and typological terms. Hoping to understand whether the train will again be a fundamental element in attracting new inhabitants and, therefore, a conductor in the rise of new urban areas and/or the restructuring of current ones.
