The present report is part of the âInternshipâ curricular unit of the Integrated Master Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, and is divided into three chapters. The first chapter describes the research aspect concerning the use of baclofen in alcohol dependence situations. Alcohol is a psychoactive substance, and when consumed in excess can cause addiction and problems with a huge negative impact on public health. Alcohol dependence is considered a disease with a high overall social and economic burden. However, there are not many treatments for this dependency, and those that exist do not always have the desired success rate. In this chapter, the off label use of baclofen will be discussed as possible treatment in alcohol dependence. In this sense, a large number of studies were developed over several years with the objective of evaluating the efficacy of this drug, in which the results will be described. The second chapter describes the internship carried out in the pharmaceutical services of the University Hospital Center of Cova da Beira, in CovilhĂŁ, which began on January 21 and lasted until March 8, 2019. In this part, the experience and all the knowledge acquired in the various areas of hospital pharmaceutical services are described. The third chapter concerns the internship held at the community pharmacy that started on March 11 and ended on May 31, 2019 at the Gastromil Pharmacy in Viseu. This part describes all the experience and knowledge acquired in the area of community pharmacy.
