| dc.description.abstract | O presente trabalho, de caráter investigatório no âmbito do vestuário, procura explorar sobre como se efetivou a disseminação e o domínio da moda francesa e inglesa em Portugal no final do XVIII e início do século XIX, principalmente os reflexos oriundos da Revolução Francesa em Portugal. Desta maneira, procurou-se verificar se a mentalidade revolucionária influenciou na dinâmica social feminina das portuguesas fidalgas durante o período de 1789 a 1807, e como isso se refletiu nos trajes. Discorre-se também a relação da Inglaterra com Portugal, em como esta interveio e manteve sua relação na sociedade portuguesa, modificando os costumes e o hábitos. Tal investigação teve por base não só a análise dos trajes femininos de corte do acervo Museu Nacional do Traje, disponíveis em exposição presencial e em catálogo online, como também do Museu Victoria & Albert em exposição presencial, do Museu do Louvre em exposição presencial, além de outros museus e acervos de coleções particulares, disponíveis em domínios públicos e livros. Perante os estudos que articulam a História e a Moda, este trabalho pretende contribuir com a ampliação das possibilidades de abordagem do tema proposto, instigando novas pesquisas e questionamentos da história da sociedade, dos espaços da mulher e da cultura material (e imaterial) de moda “em português". | por |
| dc.description.abstract | The present work, having an investigative character concerning clothing, pursues to explore how the dissemination and domain of the French and English fashions happened in Portugal, at the end of the XVIII and beginning of the XIX centuries, mainly considering the reflects originated from the French Revolution in Portugal. In that way, it tries to verify if the revolutionary mentality had influence on the female social dynamics of the Portuguese noblewomen, between the period of 1789 and 1807, and how that reflected on costumes. Moreover, it goes through the relation between England and Portugal, concerning how England intervened and kept its relation to the Portuguese society, modifying their traditions and habits. Such investigation had, as its basis, not only the analysis of the nobility female costumes, coming from the collection at the National Museum of Costume, whose exhibition is available for the public to visit and through online catalogue; but also others were taken into consideration, such as the Museum Victoria & Albert (open for live exhibition) and the Louvre Museum (open for live exhibition). Besides, the analysis was based on other museums and private collections available for public domain and in books. In view of the studies that articulate History and Fashion, this work intends to contribute to the broadening of the approach possibilities on the theme proposed, investigating new researches and questionings on the history of society, the place of women and the material (and immaterial) fashion culture in “Portuguese from Portugal”. | eng |
