Abstract(s)
O estudo discute a relação existente entre a qualidade ambiental e fatores económicos, sociais e políticos. Este estudo é realizado para os países pertencentes a União Europeia e à OCDE.
Procede-se a uma análise empírica em dados em painel para 42 países para um horizonte temporal de 11 anos (2002-2012). São realizadas algumas regressões, como é o caso do teste PCSE. Os resultados demonstram que a corrupção, política e qualidade da regulação têm um efeito positivo sobre o índice de performance ambiental. O investimento direto estrangeiro tem um efeito negativo sobre o índice de performance ambiental.
The study is about the relationship between environmental quality and economic, social and political factors. This study is made for countries belonging to the European Union and the OCDE. An empirical analysis was performed using panel data for 42 countries for a time series of 11 years (2002-2012).Some regressions were taken, as in the case of PCSE test. The results show that corruption, policy and regulation quality have a positive effect on the environmental performance index. Foreign direct investment has a negative effect on the environmental performance índex.
