A presente dissertação tem como principal objetivo refletir sobre o que é considerado cultura no jornalismo cultural português a partir da análise do suplemento cultural do público, Ípsilon. A primeira parte do trabalho centra-se num enquadramento teórico que explora os conceitos de cultura e jornalismo cultural.
De modo a responder às perguntas de investigação, foi realizado, na segunda parte do trabalho, uma análise de conteúdo e uma análise de discurso, aplicadas em 20 edições do suplemento Ípsilon, com o intuito de descortinar qual é o lugar ocupado pelos diferentes tipos de cultura (erudita, popular e de massas) e se a linguagem utilizada é ou não acessível para qualquer tipo de público.
This dissertation has the main goal of discussing what is considered culture on the portuguese journalistic culture, departing from an analisys of the public's cultural supplement, Ípsilon. The first part of the work is focused on a theoretical framework, exploring the concepts of culture and cultural journalism. On the second part of this essay, intending to answer investigative questions, a speech and content analisys were made, applied to 20 editions of the Ípsilon supplement, with the intention of uncovering which place each different kind of culture (classic, folk and mass culture) take its part on, and if the language used is acessible or not to any kind of public.
