Abstract(s)
This investigation aims to study the self-concept and anxiety levels in a sample composed of adults with and without SLD-IR. There are several investigations regarding anxiety in SLD-IR and some authors argue that this is the most reported emotional symptom in adults that suffer from this pathology. Despite this, some studies have shown that, when compared with normative groups, adults with SLD-IR report less positive evaluations of their self-concept. The results of this investigation shown that there are statistically significant differences in self-efficacy, general self-concept, and anxiety between the group composed of adults suffering from this pathology and the normative group. These results support most of the investigation in this field, allowing us to claim that anxiety and self-concept are two variables associated with SLD-IR, which may result in a personal, academic and professional prejudice.
