Abstract(s)
A presente
predominante desses mesmos jovens.
comunicativas.
Communicate and establishing interpersonal relationships are vital to the human condition. From the first seconds of life, and throughout the process of socialization and living, human beings need to communicate with their peers to expose and realize their needs. Thus, communication, verbal or non-verbal, plays a fundamental role in the development of social relationships. For this interaction to occur in the best way, it is fundamental that individuals choose assertive communication and express their ideas without aggressiveness, irritation, manipulation, or blackmail. This report resulted from an internship at CooLabora, more specifically, at the Quero Ser Mais E8G Project, which focuses its work with youth and children from economically and/or socially vulnerable environments. The main objective of the present research is to identify the predominant communication style of these same young people. In order to complete this objective, mixed research was used: quantitative and qualitative. Questionnaires were given to the nucleus of elements that attend the Project with enough assiduity, about: verbal and non-verbal communication, communication styles and group interaction. And, interviews were conducted with the project coordinator and two technicians, masters in psychology. The results of the quantitative research showed that the youth group presents behaviors within the various communication styles: passive, manipulative, aggressive and assertive. However, the results obtained by qualitative research showed that the predominant style is the aggressive one; one of the indicators placed by one of the technicians, is the difficulty in listening to others. However, it is noteworthy that the 8th Generation of the Quero Ser Mais Project showed improvements in their communicative skills.
