Abstract(s)
A presente dissertação tem como objectivo principal a análise dos resultados da aplicação de programas de combate às listas de espera em cirurgia, em Portugal e no Estrangeiro. Concretizando, pretende-se avaliar a evolução das listas de espera cirúrgicas bem como os resultados que se obtiveram após a aplicação de medidas neste sentido. Verificou-se que, quer em
Portugal quer no Estrangeiro, houve uma diminuição das listas de espera cirúrgicas bem como uma diminuição do tempo de espera para cirurgia, no entanto o problema das listas de espera não foi totalmente resolvido, o que leva a ponderar a questão da aplicação de outro tipo de mudanças de
carácter mais global nos sistemas de saúde vigentes. Como tal, no final do trabalho é feita uma reflexão para a prática, apontado as limitações do estudo e sugerindo pistas para futuras investigações.
This dissertation aims to analyse the main results of the application of programs to combat waiting lists for surgery in Portugal and abroad. Realizing it is intended to assess the evolution of surgical waiting lists and the results that were obtained after the application of measures in this direction. It was found that, both in Portugal and abroad, there was a reduction in surgical waiting lists as well as a decrease on the waiting time for surgery, however the problem of waiting lists has not been fully resolved, which leads to consider the question of the application of another type of more comprehensive changes in health systems in place. As such, at the end of the work, a reflection upon the practice is showed, pointing out the limitations of the study and suggests indications for future research.
