Abstract(s)
O presente relatório descreve todo o processo criativo do projeto desenvolvido
This report describes the entire creative process of the project developed at the company WorkWood Concept, based in Paços de Ferreira, as well as all the steps and tasks developed during the curricular internship, which served as learning. These learnings are fundamental to the development of the internship and products. It is intended to make known a project in the area of furniture, based on a woodworking process called “marquetry”, as well as the entire evolution of the project, addressing the phases necessary to produce a product. In this proposal, wood was the material that had a prominent role and that, together with the investigation of the marquetry process, formed the basis for this project. This process comes after the knowledge that this is a reference of great quality in Portugal and with regard to woodwork applied to furniture all over the world. A link then emerges between a lengthy and complex process of making, with furniture and design. Together, a piece of furniture, a table, is designed, which combines its beauty with its functionality. The latter arises with the current problem of lack of space in housing in urban environments. Houses are, increasingly, limited spaces in relation to their size, especially when referring to more urban environments, which, due to their population agglomeration and the consequent high number of houses, requires that these are increasingly smaller. The insertion of smaller pieces of furniture, adjusted and multifunctional, can be a solution to this problem, helping in the organization. Finally, the waste of a wood / wood veneer trading company serves as an example for the recovery of raw material and thus giving a second life to this material, using it for application in the marquetry process. This process, which consists of a technique of ornamentation of flat surfaces, through the creation of drawings with the application of different materials, especially wood veneers, allows us to create creative and daring projects, through prints, textures and reliefs, for different segments of the industrial production, including the furniture sector.
