O presente trabalho para a obtenção do grau de Mestre, pretende abordar a relação dos sentidos humanos com a Arquitetura, na medida em que esta é experienciada induzindo reações, sensações e emoções que tanto despertam os nossos sentidos como consciência. Sendo esta a base da investigação, começamos por procurar perceber a relação entre diferentes planos sensoriais, como podem pode evocar em nós diferentes sensações e emoções. Através da conexão do Corpo com o Espaço, o Corpo apresenta-se como um facto arquitetónico vivo, que deambula no espaço e absorve a intencionalidade presente na obra. O arquiteto viveu, pensou, desenhou e quis que se refletissem no espaço as suas influências e memórias. O Espaço projetado para o corpo apresenta cores, cheiros, sons e texturas que influenciam o modo como interagimos com o meio. Então, a reflexão a apresentar relaciona como os sentidos se fundem num espaço arquitetónico e como estes são vivenciados e percecionados pelo indivíduo que os usa. O estudo vai desenvolver-se em três momentos: no primeiro momento, o fundamento do discurso teórico com base em bibliografia selecionada, em se aborda o que são os Sentidos Humanos, o seu valor psicológico e como estes podem ser estimulados pelo arquiteto, aborda também de que modo se vive a Arquitetura e a dimensão sensorial da mesma, possibilitando a criação de uma matriz que elenque a presença dos sentidos espoletados pela obra, onde Racionalidade e Emoção são o enlace da mesma. O segundo momento, corresponde à análise de factos arquitetónicos, do arquiteto Álvaro Siva Vieira, do atelier Aires Mateus e do arquiteto Alvar Aalto como um processo de reflexão ao estudo teórico e num terceiro momento será apresentado o projeto laboratorial como o espelho do estudo desenvolvido, que numa transposição de escala que irá consistir num projeto de reabilitação de um vazio urbano decorrente de uma hesitação no espaço e no tempo em Mira de Aire, um lugar que em tempos foi um edifício com programa de Cineteatro e posteriormente Junta de Freguesia de Mira de Aire. Um projeto onde a sua maior intenção se resume a uma estratégia de Atmosfera Urbana, onde se formaliza uma intenção para a vivência e a experiência urbana na vila de Mira de Aire.
This work for a Master's degree aims to address the relationship between the human senses and architecture, insofar as it is experienced by inducing reactions, sensations and emotions that both arouse our senses and our consciousness. This being the basis of the research, we began by trying to understand the relationship between different sensory planes, how they can evoke different sensations and emotions in us. Through the connection between the Body and Space, the Body presents itself as a living architectural fact, which wanders in space and absorbs the intentionality present in the work. The architect lived, thought, designed and wanted his influences and memories to be reflected in the space. The space designed for the body presents colors, smells, sounds and textures that influence the way we interact with the environment. Therefore, the reflection to be presented relates how the senses merge in an architectural space and how they are experienced and perceived by the individual who uses them. The study will be developed in three stages: in the first stage, the theoretical basis of the discourse will be established based on selected bibliography, addressing what the Human Senses are, their psychological value, and how they can be stimulated by the architect. It will also address how Architecture is experienced and its sensory dimension, enabling the creation of a matrix that lists the senses triggered by the work, where Rationality and Emotion are the link between them. The second moment corresponds to the analysis of architectural facts, by architect Álvaro Siva Vieira, from the Aires Mateus studio, and architect Alvar Aalto, as a process of reflection on the theoretical study. In a third moment, the laboratory project will be presented as a mirror of the study developed, which, in a transposition of scale, will consist of a project to rehabilitate an urban void resulting from a hesitation in space and time in Mira de Aire, a place that was once a building with a cinematheater program and later the Mira de Aire Parish Council. A project whose main intention boils down to an Urban Atmosphere strategy, formalizing an intention for urban living and experience in the village of Mira de Aire.
