Abstract(s)
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a disabling disease affecting the nervous system, usually progresses to physic and cognitive disabilities, It is common to find oculomotor abnormalities in patients with MS, which can cause problems in the reading process, since for a comfortable reading it is necessary that the eye movements do not have any anomaly. The Adult Developmental Eye Movement with distractors (ADEMd) test is a reading test that allows the discovery of changes in eye movements by analyzing the reading times. The results of ADEMd tests of 29 subjects with MS were studied and compared with the results of 40 healthy subjects. It was found that there are more differences between the two groups in the horizontal and horizontal with distractors plates, with an increase of the reading time for subjects with MS. A discriminant function was built in order to allow the classification of new subjects as belonging to one of the groups.
