Abstract(s)
Participaram 121
alunos do ensino superior, com idades compreendidas entre os 18 e 29 anos (M=20.87;
The main objective of this study is to analyze the motivations for volunteering and prosocial attitudes in higher education students. A total of 121 higher education students, aged between 18 and 29 years old (M = 20.87; SD = 1,825), had already volunteered at least once. Data were collected through the Portuguese version of the Volunteer Motivation Inventory (IMV; Clary & Snyder, 1998), the Pro-Social Attitudes Scale (Osgood & MUraven, 2015) and a sociodemographic questionnaire and volunteering practices. The results showed that prosocial attitudes had a greater predictive effect on values, experience and growth functions compared to career, social and protection functions. In addition, 1st year students were found to have on average motivations for volunteering and higher pro-social attitudes compared to 3rd year students. Finally, limitations and implications of these results are presented and discussed within the scope of volunteering practices in higher education students.
