Abstract(s)
This report is based on the internship that occured in the Ocular Eye Care Clinic, located in Aveiro city. The internship consisted in attending lectures, doing appointments, making and analyzing exams, in order to consolidate knowledge in the correction and treatment of multiple refractive errors, as well as binocular anomalies. The content of this work presents the development of three clinical cases: Macular Anomaly, Anomaly in Positive Fusional Vergence and the Adaptation of Toric Soft Contact Lenses. It is important to diagnose macular diseases such as macular degeneration associated with age at an early stage. If that doesn’t happen it may lead to the irreversible loss of central vision. An anomaly in a positive fusional Vergence is a binocular vision dysfunction that causes specific symptoms, which must not go unnoticed in routine consultations, since they cause instability in the visual system. The adaptation of toric soft contact lenses requires the knowledge of several stabilizing systems, as well as the materials and parameters that compose them, in order to allow the user to reach a stable visual acuity, as well as ocular comfort.
