Abstract(s)
A nossa sociedade enfrenta atualmente vários constrangimentos em sequência do
agravamento dos fenómenos climáticos extremos, manifestados na escassez de água e
nas precipitações intensas. Adicionalmente, o aumento da população tem levado a uma
enorme necessidade de água tanto para o consumo humano como para a produção de
energias limpas de modo a reduzir os níveis de emissões de CO2. De forma a satisfazer as
exigências da nossa sociedade atual, têm vindo a ser construídas por todo o mundo cada
vez mais barragens de aterro com núcleo asfáltico, quer pela sua segurança quer pela sua
rapidez de construção em praticamente todos os locais com as caraterísticas mais
desafiantes.
Este trabalho descreve a metodologia utilizada pela empresa Suíça WALO International
AG na construção e controlo de qualidade do núcleo asfáltico da barragem de Mogliçë na
Albânia e comprova que a mesma é adequada para qualquer obra. Também neste
trabalho é apresentado o equipamento de pavimentação do núcleo asfáltico mais
avançado do mundo, permitindo a rapidez de construção e a qualidade exigida neste tipo
de projetos onde qualquer falha pode vir a ter custos elevadíssimos para a sua reparação.
A metodologia utilizada para o controlo de qualidade neste projeto nunca colocou em
causa o avanço dos trabalhos dentro dos prazos definidos o que prova ser uma forma
adequada e muito útil para manter os elevados padrões de qualidade exigidos pela
empresa Suíça.
Our society is currently facing a number of constraints following the worsening of extreme weather events, manifested in water scarcity and intense rainfall. In addition, the population growth has led to an enormous need for water for both human consumption and the production of clean energy to reduce CO2 emission levels. In order to meet the demands of our current society, more and more Asphalt Core Embankment Dams have been built around the world, due to their speed of construction in virtually every location with the most challenging features as well as for their safety. This work demonstrates the methodology applied by the Swiss company WALO International AG in the construction and quality control of the asphalt core of the Mogliçë dam and proves that the methodology used is suitable for any construction. In this work it is also presented the paving equipment of the most advanced asphalt core in the world, allowing the speed of construction and the quality required in this type of projects where any failure may come to have very high costs for its repair. The methodology used for quality control in this project has never compromised the progress of work within the defined deadlines. This proves to be an appropriate and very useful way to maintain the high-quality standards required by the Swiss company.
