| dc.description.abstract | Para Annette Kuhn, docente da Universidade de Lancaster e investigadora de estudos fílmicos, o interesse pela aplicação das teorias feministas à sua área de estudo começou em 1974 – ano em que assistiu a uma mostra de filmes feministas, em Nottingham. Segundo afirma, o que mais a impressionou então foi o fato de aquelas não serem apenas obras sobre mulheres (reais, trabalhadoras, donas de casa, mães), mas também de mulheres. Nesse momento, percebeu que todo o prazer que havia retirado ao assistir a filmes tinha até então dependido enormemente da sua identificação com personagens masculinos. A postura assumida exigia uma negação de si mesma como espectadora, mulher e feminista – preocupação que consideramos manter-se atual na contemporaneidade e que constitui ponto de partida para a defesa de uma proposta cinematográfica: a da criação, em Portugal, de um festival de cinema feminino, exclusivamente dedicado à exibição de obras de mulheres realizadoras. Investir na formação de públicos, devidamente sensibilizados para algumas das questões teóricas do feminismo no cinema, deveria ser objetivo central na sua constituição. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | To Annette Kuhn, professor at Lancaster University and researcher in film studies, the interest for the application of feminist theories to her field began in 1974 – the year she was invited to attend a feminist film festival in Nottingham. According to her what has impressed her the most was the fact that those were not just movies about women (real women, working, housewives, mothers), but also of women. At that moment, she realized that all the pleasure she had taken from viewing films had greatly depended on her identification with male characters. The attitude required therefore a denial of herself as a spectator, a woman and a feminist – a concern that we consider up to date in contemporaneity and that consists in our starting point for the defense of a cinematographic proposal: the creation of a feminine film festival in Portugal, exclusively dedicated to the exhibition of works by accomplisher women, who are filmmakers. Investing in the public formation – properly sensitive to some of the theoretical issues of feminism in cinema – should be a core objective in its constitution. | pt_PT |
