Abstract(s)
A Memória de Trabalho tem como principal função a manutenção das capacidades
cognitivas (Mascarello, 2016). é constituída por quatro componentes, sendo que neste
estudo avaliar-se-á o loop fonológico, responsável pela manutenção e controlo de
elementos verbais na memória de trabalho (Rodrigues, 2001). Em relação à
sintomatologia depressiva, existem diversos tipos, nomeadamente os psíquicos, os
fisiológicos e os comportamentais. A amostra deste estudo é composta por 109
participantes de nacionalidade portuguesa. Com o intuito de avaliar a presença de
sintomatologia depressiva utilizou-se o Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI) e a memória de
trabalho foi avaliada através da tarefa Verbal Recognition Task. Os resultados
demonstram que há diferenças entre o score da tarefa Verbal Recognition Task obtidos
pelos participantes que pontuaram abaixo do ponto de corte e participantes que
pontuaram acima do ponto de corte sendo que essa diferença é estatisticamente
significativa. Relativamente à sintomatologia depressiva quando se comparam homens
e mulheres conclui-se que não há diferenças estatisticamente significativa.
