Esta dissertação de mestrado terá como base a recuperação de um edifício abandonado
existente em Trancoso, denominado de Palácio Ducal e a sua reconversão em museu da
cidade. Atualmente, encontra-se em ruína destacando-se na paisagem pela sua
parecença e história. Não se sabe a data precisa de construção, mas deve remontar à
segunda metade do século XVIII.
Neste estudo, serão abordados temas como, museu, museologia, museografia, cidade e
pretende-se ainda analisar a relação entre museu e cidade e a transformação que um
edifício destes poderá trazer à cidade de Trancoso.
Numa parte inicial será apresentada a análise do contexto histórico, cultural e
localização do objeto arquitetónico e, posteriormente, será desenvolvida a proposta de
reconversão do antigo Palácio Ducal de Trancoso em museu da cidade, que irá
promover o desenvolvimento desta zona do interior.
This master's thesis will be based on the recovery of an abandoned building in Trancoso, called the Doge's Palace and its conversion into a city museum. Currently, it is in ruin, standing out in the landscape for its resemblance and history. The precise date of construction is not known, but it must go back to the second half of the 18th century. In this study, topics such as, museum, museology, museography, city will be addressed and it is also intended to analyze the relationship between museum and city and the transformation that such a building may bring to the city of Trancoso. In an initial part, the analysis of the historical, cultural context and location of the architectural object will be presented and, later, the proposal for the conversion of the former Ducal Palace of Trancoso into a city museum will be developed, which will promote the development of this inland area.
