Abstract(s)
assumir riscos, antecedentes pessoais e profissionais, motivações empreendedoras,
The aim of this empirical research is to produce a set of information-based, in order to identify and analyze what are the main factors that may affect the entrepreneurial intention. Having regard to the literature review, a model grounded in the theoretical approaches to entrepreneurship was developed. The research model includes the following variables: propensity to take risks, personal and professional background, entrepreneurial motivation, entrepreneurial self-efficacy and institutional environment. From the work drafted, hypotheses were formulated for the purpose of research these variables. The study consists of a sample of 47 students enrolled at the University of Beira Interior attending different Units maintained by the Department of Social and Human Sciences in the areas of Entrepreneurship, Management and Economics. The data was collected through a survey available online in order to empirically test the hypotheses. The results show that the propensity to take risks, the need for achievement (motivation), family and professional background and self-efficacy significantly affect entrepreneurial intention of students attending higher education at the University of Beira Interior. Regarding the institutional environment, there is correlation with entrepreneurial intention. In the chapter of the findings in this study, the theoretical and practical implications, as well the limitations and suggestions for future research are presented.
